Summary:

One of the leading PR, marketing, and communications agencies specializing in the lifestyle, entertainment, gaming, kids/family, and related spaces is looking for a VP, Business Development who will be responsible for all of the agency’s business development and marketing activities. This role will oversee the execution of a business development plan, which includes prospecting, lead generation and qualification, presentation development, and follow-up. This agency delivers 360-degree marketing expertise and execution with in-house teams driving successful programs encompassing PR, social, digital, creative, and paid media for their clients. This is a Hybrid position based in our New Jersey office.

 Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain extensive knowledge of the company’s products and services
  • Provide direct marketing to new business prospects
  • Work with the media department to develop contacts with media representatives in all key markets
  • Work to build prospects/contacts through existing clients
  • Develop and maintain a prime prospect list, which includes qualified prospects from the CPG, Food and Beverage, Nutrition, Gaming and Technology verticals
  • Manage/keep regular contact with companies on the prospect list
  • Build relationships between agency and key prospects
  • Create opportunities to pitch new accounts
  • Understand the business and marketing challenges of key prospects
  • Develop sales strategies for key prospects
  • Coordinate presentation/pitch approaches
  • Develops responses to requests for proposals (RFP)
  • Researches all prospects
  • Organize, direct and make arrangements for presentations
  • Target marketers with specific parameters
  • Merchandise account activities
  • Develop/update new sales literature
  • Manage/develop an electronic presentation piece

Qualifications:

  • Prior agency experience within marketing and advertising experience, including digital
  • Previous experience as a member of a new business team with a solid track record of landing new business
  • An effective and proactive networker
  • A self-motivated person who has delivered consistent revenue through strategic sales solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong presentation skills

    Qualified by all of the above, for this job with requisite/required  years of the required experience and skills, the minimum and maximum salary is approximated at $135,000 and $150,000 respectfully, exclusive of commission, bonus, equity, profit sharing, any element of healthcare coverage, any reference to how much a person would have to contribute to the premium of a healthcare plan, any perks, or other forms of compensation.  Fewer years of experience could bring the base salary lower, and more experience could bring the base salary higher, if the company is willing to increase their salary bands.
